Welcoming a newborn into the world is a whirlwind of love, emotion, and sleepless wonder—and we’re here to help you preserve those fleeting first moments with a heartfelt newborn photography session.

As a mother myself, I understand how important comfort, timing, and flexibility are during this special season. That’s why every session at My Little Photography Illawarra is designed with your baby’s needs—and yours—at the heart of it. You’ll have plenty of time to plan your shoot in advance, so when you arrive, we can focus entirely on your little one in a calm and nurturing environment.

Our spacious home studio in Albion Park is warm, welcoming, and easily accessible from Wollongong, Shellharbour, and Kiama. It’s a place where you can relax, feed, and care for your baby while we gently guide the session around their natural rhythms. 

What to Expect   

Newborn sessions typically run for 2–3 hours, giving us the flexibility to pause for feeds, cuddles, and nappy changes as needed. Before your session, we’ll chat about your vision—whether you have a specific style, colour palette, or sentimental item you’d like to include. And if you’re not sure yet, don’t worry! We have a beautiful collection of props, wraps, blankets, and backdrops to help inspire the perfect look.

Every detail is thoughtfully prepared to make your experience as relaxed and memorable as possible. Let’s celebrate your growing family with images that will be cherished for a lifetime.

The ideal window for capturing those dreamy, curled-up newborn poses is when your baby is between 5 and 23 days old. During this time, babies are still very sleepy and naturally settle into the soft, snuggly positions you’ll see throughout my gallery. It’s a magical stage where we can gently pose your little one in a way that’s both safe and beautifully serene.

I typically schedule sessions after day 5, giving breastfeeding mums time to establish a feeding rhythm and settle into life at home. Newborns often cluster feed in the early days to help build a healthy milk supply, so allowing a few days before your session ensures a more relaxed experience for both baby and parents.

I offer a limited number of newborn sessions each month to ensure every family receives the time, attention, and care they deserve—and to guarantee a two-week turnaround on your fully edited images. That way, you’ll have your precious memories in hand while they’re still fresh in your heart.

Your newborn session is a beautifully curated experience designed to celebrate your growing family. There is a $150 session fee for all newborn sessions, which covers your photographer’s time and expertise during your 2–3 hour studio session, allowing plenty of time for feeding, settling, and capturing those precious moments without rush.

This fee includes:

• Access to our full collection of backdrops, custom props, wraps, outfits, and accessories
• A personalised session plan tailored to your preferences—whether it’s specific colours, meaningful heirloom items, or special image requests
• Time to discuss and plan family portraits, parent images, and sibling shots if you have older children joining the session

The session fee is due at the time of booking to secure your spot and begin planning your session. Please note: this fee is not deducted from your final image package, which will be selected separately after your session.
